As a nonprofit organization, besides acting accordingly to make this profession more familiar to the public, and to improve it; SEYAP supports the idea of a sustainable future for all components of film making.
Festivals in Istanbul, which was organized first in 2014 by SEYAP with the support of Directorate General of Cinema under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aims to present new films that was produced in Turkey and haven't premiered internationally to organizers of category A international film festivals and to increase the number of Turkish films screened in those festivals.
Within the scope of the project, program organizers (competition and official sections) are invited to Istanbul and screenings of new films that was produced in Turkey and other sectoral activities took place with them. Therefore, besides the opportunity created to screen the films that enter the lists of organizers in an international area and thus familiarization of Turkish cinema; producers and distributors have the chance to develop international collaborations.
Wednesday Meetings
We carry out Wednesday Meetings with expert guests, from 2011 to present to inform independent producers about the developments in the film industry and to increase sectoral interaction.
